DROPS FROM HEAVEN

They sink slowly to the earth
Mini-arrows in space
And in a persistent humming thud
Hitting on the rooftops below,
Some float further down
To splash in a misty explossion
On car bonnets and windshields
Others embrace the sea of umbrellas
With few escaping to pierce the clothing
As hundreds scamper for shelter
But then all of it
Ends up on the tarmac.
Collecting in a million thin streams that merge
Into small rives and like an apocalypse invade the drain pipes
Cars speedind past splash dirty water
On the frustrated pedestrians who then loudly curse the drivers
Oh rain,let it rain
May the heavens open up yet more and pour weater on the hungry earth
Its all great
The drops sailing in the sky
The sulleness of the moment
Aand the vast grey sky above
The thunder is sweet music
And listening to thew hum of the rain, the magical pools on the ground,
Let it rain!
