SMOKING CULTURE,BENEFITS IN A CIGAR.

smoking culture is the practice among gentlemen and ladies to smoke tobacco for the sheer delight and satisfaction it offers. That makes it distinct from the bad boy habit of smoking for the thrill of rebelling against the perceived good morals attributed to a good member of the society,or smoking simply to feel tough or cool.In short, whoever smokes a cigarette for the elegance of the act is in the culture grouping, and whoever does it for any other reason is in the rebel wagon.Period.
Whichever group one hails from however,a common ground is that they smoke tobacco, and it comes in two similar yet broadly different forms;cigars and cigarettes, forget sushi,it lacks the thrill element of a tobacco stick.Notice that I've ignored the pipe too, because it's not that common, otherwise it's a gentleman's tool.Cigars are older than cigarettes,(the former is Spanish, while the latter is french, the magnification of this assertion is, ,the content of a latter article)and were first smoked in the Hispaniola island in the Caribbean, which today is occupied by two nation states,Haiti and the Dominican republic.Indeed some of the most popular and exotic cigar brands today come from the Dominican republic. So what's a cigar?Nothing more than a roll of dried and fermented whole tobacco leaves, and in contrast,a cigarette is really some finely cut tobacco leaves(what you may call tobacco powder)rolled in a paper cylinder.Cigarettes are cheaper than cigars, generally, and therefore are the more popular and most what you have been smoking(am not saying that you are poor though,I'm merely making reference to a social-economic theory!).They come in three major different types;filtered,non-filtered and electronic cigarettes(also called smokeless cigarettes but since they don't tobacco, they don't make the culture cut, they are smoked in rebellion to tobacco...which means they are in the rebel wagon as well)Of the three types,non-filtered are the most harmful,a good example in Kenya being the rooster brand by BAT,which even stinks harmful. The safest cigarettes are the filtered, especially filtered menthol cigarettes like the SM brand, again by BAT Kenya, chiefly because it takes longer to get addicted to anything containing menthol....well,a cigarette with menthol actually, because it dulls the effects of nicotine.Needless to say,bad boys steer clear of this mild cigarettes, and in Kenya members of the bad boy cartel actually consider it an introductory smoke to the non menthol types.
A cigar holds more appeal to tho seeking bigger esteem and a 'classy' feeling about themselves, its almost a social statement, and if we are talking about such brands as Cuban made montecristo, then the hint isn't that misleading.A cigar goes very well with
wines and spirits, and the viceroy brandy available in Kenya is a great match to Dominican republic's macanudo cigar brand.Non alcoholic coffee goes very well with cigars too,and I'm talking about your usual nescafe here, not some exotic brand you have never heard of.If you can get it right,a cigar can make food much more enjoyable as well. For Kenyans,a cigar like cohiba esplendido is a great smoke after a meal of nyama choma(roast meat)especially if the roast meat was peppered and dipped in garlic, the tastes will be more agreeable, and taste in a cigar is everything,in fact as a rule a cigarette is smoked for the nicotine, while a cigar is smoked for the taste. The principle is to accompany a cigar with cognac,or a drink with a similar taste;for this one old is gold, cognac and cigars have grown together over the years as after meal delights.
You can roll your own cigars or cigarettes especially if you grow your own tobacco,as it allows you to dry the leaves to your taste, but it's generally wise to leave the manufacturing ordeals to the manufacturers. If however you still insist on rolling your own, then it cant hurt to know that you will have become a torcedore,or in simpler English a cigar roller.Torcedore's are, by the way, a highly esteemed lot in Cuba, where most are female.Tobacco,I was surprised to discover has it's health benefits, some not merely psychological but also scientifically proven.
For a shocker, did you know that tobacco smoking was thought to cure cancer up to the 1920's,when German scientists finally silenced the outrageous rumor mongers by proving the exact opposite to be the case.Aside from that myth, though,it's a fact that tobacco smnoke repels insects, and so can lower the risk of contracting Nile west worm or stichis encephantiasis diseases, both, needless to say, potentially fatal. In addition, nicotine causes relaxation, therefore can help lower high blood pressure. The thrill that comes with smoking is the result of satisfying the bodie's nicotine needs, and since enjoyment is a mental health benefit, nicotine is good for the mind!
Whether you are in the culture or the rebel wagon, you now know a few more bits about your puff.Nevertheless, according to the cancer.org,a reputable medical outfit, tobacco smoking causes a variety of cancers, directly I might add,and it doesn't matter the group you hail from.A social smoker, who does say five cigarettes at most a week,or less than a cigar a day,and doesn't inhale the smoke has very little exposure to the health risks, and not even the cancer.org refutes this.It remains true that complete abstinence is the best way to address the issue of tobacco smoking, but then you'd have to give up the brighter side of the act.
