A LOVE POEM

THE DIRGE OF LIFE.

Water is as deep
As it's bottom is
Flowing in its lap
Its strength is the softness
The hardest of rocks it’ll clip
Yet its the gentlest

A river will dip
As far as its water flows

To be ugly is to be beautiful
Everybody will notice
A longing is not full
If in have it culminates
In a dream to be in lull
Is better than in a wish to arise

The prison of love
Is like a Tether to a beast

To know in your wake
That found is happiness
Is to reach the end of a useless hike
When rest is as peace
To understand your freedom break
How stale to say bye lass

Farewell hope
Am glad you never were.

ABOUT THE POEM..
this is a poem about a cold suit. The persona is the rejected man,and he's addressing the woman who has turned his advances own.In the first stanza, the man mourns of his unappreciated love, which he compares to water, wailing that his love wasn't good enough for the woman...'water is as deep..as its bottom is..'.Off-course he feels bad about the lost cause, but he still sees a good side to it,that perhaps its great that things turned out this way because he still free from commitments..the prison of love ,is like a tether to a beast..,love ,to him isn't after all that desirable. The point most vivid in the poem is that the man is consoling himself, and it culminates in the last line,'am glad you never were'.He's certainly not mourning like in the first stanza, and you have to read it a few times to understand why.this poem by the way, though three years old and one of my earliest,is my favorite composition, guess why!
