He went through University and became one of the top performers in the country a position that no student at Fahari University had ever achieved. At first, everyone at the University thought the results were erroneous until they grew tired of waiting for the amendment of Konyeki's grades. This memory of his happy ending finally lured Konyeki to his sleep.

Konyeki was in low spirits. He was still mourning that he had missed an opportunity to become a marketer at Amkeni Marketing Ltd. How could Martin, his former classmate. The latter understood nothing in class get the position at the expense of others? "CEO Thomas Tim Tokoo will ruin the company by employing Martin" Konyeki whispered to himself. He knew his disappointed father  could not understand how a graduate could "lack employment at the big city." Convincing Miano that there were no  jobs was not easy . Konyeki dreaded going home because he knew Miano would ridicule him for not trying hard enough to get a job. However, he felt uncomfortable living at Nding'uri's house and depending on him for everything as his job was to search for work. Frustration was taking a toll on him as he tried everything he could to get a job but all in vain. Nding'uri, who was his village mate, started noticing that Konyeki was becoming too frustrated for his comfort. "Take a break from the job search. You look like someone who meets demons every day," Nding'uri said as he left for work in the morning. Konyeki after the words realized he had fatigue and his feet were swelling by the day because of walking for long distances when dropping his academic documents.

Konyeki decided to spend the day writing some applications, although he felt sleepy because of exhaustion. After some hours, he heard the key turn in the lock, taking him by surprise as it was too early for Nding'uri to return from work. Before he could move, Nding'uri entered panting and sweating. "What is wrong?" Konyeki asked quickly, fearing for worse news. "There is nothing wrong, in fact, you should start celebrating" Nding'uri answered. Konyeki was puzzled as he did not know what was there to celebrate until Nding'uri informed him that Thomas Tim Tokoo fondly known as Triple T was furious that Martin passed the interview after presenting forged academic certificates. Triple T then made a call to Nding'uri whose number Konyeki had given out after selling his handset to fund the trip to the city. Triple T insisted that Nding'uri should inform Konyeki that he should go and "replace trickster Martin as the new marketer."

Konyeki could not believe that a rich man such as Tokoo could remember him. He felt like a war-winning general. Finally, he could count getting a job as one of his achievements after managing to live with a dictatorial father, surviving pathetic living conditions at Fahari university and staying sober as some of his friends became addicts of drug. The hardships only made his latest achievement sweeter, and he promised himself to work hard and uplift his life and that of his family. He could imagine how Miano would receive the news with joy and as usual, tell his mother how his son "was a conquering bull." These words were Miano's way of praising Konyeki after a remarkable win. His thoughts were interrupted by Nding'uri, who told him, "stop day dreaming and prepare for your most memorable trip to Amkeni Marketing Ltd."
